BOOM! A Film About the Sonics (2018)

this is a pretty good doc. the band are just normal blue collar guys and it's fun to hear them tell the story. the doc glosses over a lot of stuff to frame them as forgotten for decades when it's not really the case. it is weird they spend so much time in Europe, yet the Nuggets comp wasn't mentioned as well as other details other reviewers have brought up. nothing about the psychobilly and garage bands influenced by them who covered their songs (The Cramps' Strychnine for instance) as if they were completely unknown, but this was a band's band for sure. some of the personal stuff about the director was kind of not necessary, and at the end the captions kept saying [sentimental music] but i get it. i enjoyed the interviews with the whole original lineup, plus later musicians like Kim Thayil etc. This is one of my favourite bands so an enjoyable hour nonetheless
