Jean Gabin and Lino Ventura in a classic French Film Noir, this almost couldn't go wrong, and Touchez Pas au Grisbi didn't disappoint. Somewhere in the first half an hour you're already presented with coke-sniffing and nude females. I bet they didn't dare that in Hollywood Film Noir in 1954. Jean Gabin is charismatic as ever, and Lino Ventura is the runner-up. I love the hardened, unsentimental criminals they play. Watching a film like this, you trust nobody, expect anyone to be a potential backstabber, and any woman to become the femme fatale.
