The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie (1972)I liked this Buñuel film. An intriguing mix of contemporary absurdism, surrealism and satire, ridiculing capitalistic decadence and conceit. Loved the early-1970s atmosphere, interiors, wardrobes and the dream scenes. Also worth mentioning is the ghostly scene where a young boy writes a message on his mother's dresser mirror, using her lipstick. If you consider that Stephen King's The Shining appeared in 1977, and Kubrick's film in 1980, I strongly suspect that the scene in Le Charme Discret de la Bourgeoisie inspired the very similar event in The Shining.
