Silver Bullet (1985)

As a 1980s kid I love some childhood nostalgia every once in a while, although quite some sorry-ass trash was created in the era. A whole range of second-rate Stephen King movies was made in the 1980s. Silver Bullet is no real exception to that, but the film is so deliciously Eighties in just about every aspect that you don't need to watch fake Eighties tie-ins like Stranger Things. Just watch the real deal, like Silver Bullet. I mean: here you've got Corey Haim racing around in a motorized wheelchair created by his drunk uncle Gary Busey. What more could you want? Busey is a blast in Silver Bullet. It felt like he just played himself, and had a lot of fun doing so. Don't expect to be scared by Silver Bullet. There are some slightly gory scenes, but by today's horror standards Silver Bullet is a pleasantly campy flashback to what a lot of movies were like in the 1980s.
