a review of 我和厄尔以及将死的女孩

Me and Earl and the Dying Girl left me with mixed feelings. I thought it was humorous at times, disarming at times, but also boring and pretentious at times. I’ve got a weak spot for Olivia Cooke, so she made it already worth watching the film, but I wasn’t really moved by the emotional scenes, despite the sad subject matter. I guess the continually stoic facial expression and overall lethargy of the lead character wasn’t beneficial to the character buildup.
