My Bloody Valentine - Review

This is pure schlock, plain and simple. It's an incredibly watchable kind of schlock though, an often unintentionally funny and odd approach to the slasher genre replacing the stock teenage characters with supposed adults behaving like toddlers, bumbling and goofing their way through a backwoods fantasy world like a reaganite's wet dream come true. What kept me watching was a certain morbid curiosity, not so much towards the plot, its gruesome murders and gore, rather than the script and filmmaking itself - an unusually slick example of an almost - though not quite - good bad movie.
