Bog (1979)i feel i need to add a bit of background— i participate in an online watchalong every sunday and we vote on the movie every week. i usually pick a movie based on name alone and then vote on it until it wins. well, for Bog (1979), i have been voting for it dutifully every week for about... five months?? a small contingent of people who voted for it every week started to develop. this week, it won. and it's bad, people. but as far as exploitation in a lot of these '70s movies, you could do a lot worse. i mean it's not original in any way. all the characters are awful. sets appear to be reused from a library basement room with microfiche machine in lieu of a gun store, and a high school biology classroom instead of a coroner's office. the rubber monster reveal, while brief, is one of the funniest things on film. it looks like a child's drawing of godzIlla with huge googly eyes and lobster claws. and the movie has a bog witch! so despite it being incredibly slow, low quality, the repeated use of Legally Distinct Anne Murray Love Theme, and being generally really really bad, i'm not sorry i voted for it.
