Bad Times at the El Royale (2018)I'd describe Bad Times at the El Royale as an intriguing blend of Barton Fink (Coen brothers) and Tarantino's The Hateful Eight. All performances were strong. I particularly enjoyed the cool old-timer Jeff Bridges (please let my hair be like his hair when I'm his age). But I was also impressed by Cynthia Erivo's voice and acting talent. The brooding sense of mystery, drenched in an effective 1950s/1960s neon light motel atmosphere was also well-done, and this is the first time I realized that Dakota Johnson is the daughter of my Miami Vice childhood hero Don Johnson. She sure inherited part of his looks.
