a review of 爱猫之城

Kedi means cat in Turkish, and that title says it all. Being half Turkish and a cat lover, this documentary melted my heart like snow in the Istanbul sunshine. Kedi is a beautifully shot, sensitive portrait of stray cats in the metropolitan city of Istanbul, and follows a range of good-hearted people who lovingly take care of them. Besides being a joy to watch for anyone who's even remotely fond of cats, Kedi is also filled with atmospheric imagery of the beautiful and ancient Istanbul, and the people who are interviewed have some profound things to say about cats, love, life and humanity. A heart-warming feel-good experience. My faith in humanity has been temporarily restored. 😉
