a review of 感官游戏

I first saw eXistenZ not long after it was released back in 1999. I barely remembered anything of it, apart from Jennifer Jason Leigh being hot as hell. Having rewatched it, I stick to that opinion. Regarding the rest of the film, I liked the original concepts and absurdities, but I found myself becoming slightly bored and impatient as the film progressed, and I couldn’t really get used to the acting style, which felt like low-budget, B-grade, amateur stage-play style acting, although it was probably intentional to support the estranging, dream-like virtual game world. All in all, definitely not a waste of time, but I like other Cronenbergs more, such as Videodrome.
