This was a film whose big problem wasn't a lack of ambition, but maybe too much of it. They seem to have decided that storytelling is boring and that audiences just want to see spectacle and lots of it. I spent most of the time not having a clue what was going on and not caring why it was. It shamelessly ripped off a bunch of other decent movies and put what they took into a blender. I am not sure whether it would even be possible for an actor to give a good performance with what they had been given here. I'm giving it an extra star because of how easy it makes it for us to mock it, greatly simplifying things.
