Okja (2017)I guess I'm too much of an cynic to be really moved by Okja, but I'm not callous enough to deny that the film's message is a worthy reminder of how inhuman humans can be. I was impressed by the convincing CGI, particularly the realism of the interactions between the computer-generated creature and its environment. Regarding the cast — I've got a soft spot for Paul Dano. Love his acting talent and sympathetic charisma. I couldn't get used to Jake Gyllenhaal as a zany, comical character. He crossed the line of overacting. His hysterical role in Okja undoubtedly works for youngsters, but not for me. I prefer Jake's gloomy, depressed roles, like his characters in Donnie Darko and Enemy.
