it seems like a lot of people are comparing this against Going Clear which also came out in 2015, but i think this approaches it from a different angle. the litigiousness and the harrassment are on full display here and the premise is a bit tongue in cheek in a way that makes it less depressing to watch. some of these former scientologists are still very damaged by their time there and maybe didn't want to leave but were forced to, and that is evident here
