Never Let Me Go is a visually striking blend between drama and science fiction. It moved me, but not as much as it could have, because I thought there was just a bit too much drama, with too many crying faces as the film progressed, which diminished my engagement with the events and characters. The film tried a bit too hard to be beautiful and touching. Having said this, I think Carey Mulligan really proved her acting talent with this film. The subject matter is food for thought in these times of significant biological science advancements. Last but not least I loved the painterly beauty of a number of shots.
