Love on the Run - Review

Now this is the most disappointing thing François Truffaut has come up with since The Soft Skin (1964), even worse than that one in my view. I can see how the director was intrigued with the prospect of recontextualizing the events of earier entries in the Antoine Doinel cycle but the experiment doesn't really add up to anything here. Rather, its over-reliance on flashbacks by way of archive material from the earlier films makes this feel like a 90-minute clip show TV episode. Watchable, mildly entertaining but pretty inessential after all.
