Donnie Darko (2001)Donnie Darko is such a class on its own that it's difficult to categorize. It's got the gloomy surrealism of David Lynch, and captures the atmosphere of the 1980s so well that it could have been a production from that era. The dark, fatalistic atmosphere, adolescent romance, interesting time travel theory and beautiful soundtrack make it complete. A valuable gem, in my humble opinion. I prefer the theatrical cut. It leaves more room for your own interpretation. Some things are better left unexplained.
