At Close Range (1986)

I enjoyed At Close Range, partly because the movie's atmosphere gave me a nostalgic longing for the 1980s, but also because of impressive characters established by Sean Penn, Christopher 'King of cool' Walken (those eyes!) and cult hero Crispin Glover. I also liked the somewhat slow pace of the movie. It effectively reflects the boredom of growing up in a small town. Some online research pointed out that the movie also stays pretty true to the real-life dark events the story is based on, which is quite chilling to realize.
