Every once in a while, a film annoys me right from the start. That turned out to be the case with One Battle After Another. The characters irritated me, the rebellion scenes at the start felt contrived and overacted, the accompanying score was annoying, and so on. So I stopped the film after ten minutes, because if a film doesn’t pull me into the story and characters within that time frame, it just isn’t going to work out.  I quite liked There Will Be Blood by Paul Thomas Anderson though. I won’t rate One Battle After Another, because that wouldn’t be appropriate, having seen only ten minutes. But those ten minutes sufficed to establish my impression.
