The Irishman (2019)

Yep, good ol' Scorsese hasn't lost it yet. The Irishman is another fine piece of storytelling. I thought the first half had more momentum than the second half, but it was solid entertainment. I loved the stoic facial expressions of Robert de Niro, but my favorite performer was Joe Pesci. It was great to see him back after all those years, and he showed once again what a fine actor he is. To be honest, I thought Al Pacino's performance was the weakest. His role felt like a caricatural reprise of his loudmouth Scarface character. I also loved the Tarantino-esque whimsical conversations between the tough guys, such as the fish discussion in the car. 😁
