The Ciambra (2017)A Ciambra is an impressively authentic, dreary portrait of a large, poor Italian Gypsy family, their daily concerns and their criminal activities. The film's creators didn't glorify or glaze anything. You see six year old kids smoking and ten year old kids driving cars, for real. The family is a real Gypsy family, and no names were altered, to keep everything as authentic as possible. The border between fiction and reality is hard to distinguish in A Ciambra. The performances match the impression of authenticity. Particularly the lead character's performance is impressive. A Ciambra is a memorable experience.
