a review of

i watched this a whole bunch of times about ten years ago and cried the whole time and i just thought i related because i grew up nearby and had fundamentalist religious family and it did not occur to me at all that i might also be nonbinary. So i tried to get everybody in my life to watch it thinking they would also find it this profoundly relatable (they did not). took a few more years to figure out the gender thing and the soundtrack is fantastic. the album with songs written for this doc is still one of my favourites. Where was Jesus when we needed him? Where was Amy Grant? I thought she was his backup
