Oh that was so right up my alley. Surreal estonian folk horror clearly taking some cues from the oldschool Ingmar Bergman playbook while fans of Robert Eggers will also get a kick out of this flick, bearing a similar atmosphere of suffocating solitude as The Witch. While the second half could've been tightened up a bit in editing, i'm not gonna complain about this much of a good thing. Boiling down the stuff of old fairy tales to their traditionally cruel essence, November builds a world that's equal parts fantastic, absurd and horrifying.
