Central Station (1998)

Central Station is the first film in probably a few years that got me all teary-eyed. This is pure cinema, a disarming story about interhuman relationships. An adorable kid in search of the father he dearly misses, meets an aging, cynical woman who reluctantly decides to help him.

There's a great feeling of authenticity throughout the film, and the chemistry between the woman and the boy is palpable. I'm also glad Central Station didn't become overly melodramatic. I enjoyed every minute of the story.
