Bloody Sunday (2002)

Bloody Sunday is a very impressive recreation of the tragic events that took place in Ireland during a 1972 protest march which was meant to be peaceful. The film looks and feels admirably authentic. The shaky eyewitness style camera makes you feel as if you're standing in the midst of the crowd, experiencing everything first hand. I clearly remember frequent news coverage of riots and IRA attacks in Ireland when I was a kid. I had heard about Bloody Sunday, but never exactly knew what happened that day. This film has changed that. Bloody Sunday is a disturbing, emotional rollercoaster ride, skillfully telling an important true tale to be remembered, hopefully helping to prevent something as senseless as this to ever happen again.
