a review of 虎口拔牙

The Driver had been on my watchlist for many years, and it didn’t disappoint. Ryan O’Neill is the personification of cool, Isabelle Adjani is radiant as ever, and the car chases are a skillfully directed adrenalin rush, reminiscent of Bullitt (1968) and Vanishing Point (1971). I also liked the melancholy of the nighttime scenes, and the sense of nihilism, particularly of O’Neill and Adjani.
