I really wanted this to be awesome but unfortunately, the film doesn’t overcome my two favorite gripes about your average mainstream-comedy-with-a-message type of flick.

The first one is that it’s, well… a mainstream comedy, which already puts it somewhat outside my preferred set of genres.

The other one is how films like this tend to see me, the viewer, as a thoroughly lobotomized fuck who doesn’t get the message unless he’s hit over the head with it repeatedly and relentlessly.

Add to that some serious pacing issues and a running time that could’ve been easily trimmed down by 10-15 Minutes and you get a film that’s merely watchable and whose saving grace is a set of rather great acting performances.
