a review of 疯狂的麦克斯2

Mad Max 2 (1981)Mad Max 2 is the third Mad Max I've seen so far. I started with the recent adrenaline rush of Mad Max: Fury Road, and then decided to pay tribute to George Miller by finally watching the original movies. While the first movie is an extensive prologue, establishing the promising first building blocks of Miller's original post-apocalyptic Dieselpunk world, Mad Max 2 accelerates the theme into a higher gear. The storyline is more coherent than the first film, the vehicles and characters are more distinctive, Mel Gibson has rapidly metamorphed from a puppy into a young man, the stunts are impressive and the action shots are astonishing, especially for a film in the pre-CGI era. If I had to choose a favorite from the three Mad Max films I've seen so far, I'd go for Mad Max: Fury Road. I think that's Miller's magnum opus, perfecting the exhilarating, fossil-fueled chariot race of the future.
