The first documentary I've watched about it so I can't really make any comparisons on the parts that it does cover but there are many eyewitness interviews and a good amount of archival footage. It's a short series and very focused on just the few days leading to the mass murder/suicide event instead the longer story about what led to this. I could definitely see there being more insightful documentaries about this cult that would help understand it and the personality of Jim Jones more.
