Not to be confused with the utterly detestable 1974 Mario Bava career low-point "Rabid Dogs" - this one isn't quite as bad but i won't let it off the hook either. Like with so many other italian genre flicks, the male chauvinism of this one hasn't aged too well. There aren't many redeeming qualities about this film to speak of either - it kinda encapsulates everything i dislike about italian genre cinema of its era. The overall plot is borderline ridiculous and would make for an amusingly stupid diversion if it's general worldview weren't so completely cynical, its hero protagonist such a thoroughly unlikable macho douchebag, its villains just over-the-top cruel for cruelty's sake, the cinematography so unremarkable and lifeless.
