a review of 特警判官

Remember the feeling of excitement you had as a kid watching a movie with a cool hero, and how badly you wanted to be like him? After the movie had ended you ran out of the theater to become the hero, imitating scenes from the movie with your friends. Dredd is one of those movies. Apart from the great action, soundtrack and gloomy atmosphere, I particularly loved the surreal, dreamy 'slo-mo' drug scenes. Karl Urban plays a bad-ass Dredd, and I really like the fact that the movie creators chose not to show his face. That would have demystified him and would have made him more vulnerable.
