a review of 寒枝雀静
While i’m waiting for his latest film About Endlessness to hit home video, i’ve been rewatching Roy Andersson’s past work once more. The concluding film of his “Living” trilogy about the vastness of human experience is yet another touching masterpiece by one of european cinema’s greatest artists, simultaneously funny, sad, puzzling and - like all of his films post-hiatus - visually one-of-a-kind. If you aren’t familiar with Roy Andersson’s work yet, be prepared for a captivating new experience unlike anything else in contemporary film.
