The Lighthouse (2019)The Lighthouse was an intriguing watch. I expected a bit more of it, but I'm always a sucker for films in which someone is slowly going mad, and I'm a David Lynch aficionado, so The Lighthouse didn't disappoint. Willem Dafoe is always a treat to watch, and Robert Pattinson gave away a decent performance. The cinematography was delightfully gloomy and atmospheric, like a dark, surreal homage to John Carpenter's The Fog (1980). I didn't expect a psychological thriller to make me laugh out loud as well, but it did a few times. And this movie has established some new standards in becoming shit-faced, even literally. 💩
