Repo Man (1984)I first saw Repo Man in 1990 or so, when I was still a youngster. I didn't remember much of it, so I decided to rewatch it in 2017. The film stars a young Emilio Estevez and 1980s cult film actor Harry Dean Stanton as the main repo men. I enjoyed the first half of the film, featuring winks to the nihilistic, anarchistic punk culture of that time, and some humorous moments. But in the second half the film gradually falls apart into more and more hysterical nonsense, until I found myself yawning, and yearning for the film to end. One more thing to note — Repo Man was released in 1984, and features a nuclear-powered flying car that serves as a time machine. I've got a suspicion that Robert Zemeckis had seen Repo Man when his first Back To The Future was released in 1985. 🙂
