Good Bye Lenin! (2003)

If you've grown up in Western Europe in the 1980s, when East Germany was a grim country hidden behind a wall between communism and capitalism, and you can personally recall the pivotal end of the wall era, a film like Good Bye Lenin is a melancholic delight. I already knew Yann Tiersen's beautiful soundtrack for Good Bye Lenin, and I'm glad the film turned out to match the music's beauty. The plot, the acting, the direction, the cinematography, it all fits together so gracefully. And speaking of grace: Katrin Sass is a sight for sore eyes. 😍 Added to my list of all-time favorite films: letterboxd.com/metinseven/list/my-all-time-favorite-movies/
