a review of 共同的语言

I imagine it would be a different experience to watch this without the locals in the theatre laughing in recognition at every Winnipeg reference (people are still upset that the city's slogan changed and cheered to see the One Great City! sign in Arabic). They clapped at the end like when a plane lands and this was not the screening where the director was present. I enjoyed this a lot and need to see some Iranian films now. I wish the people here were as warm and inviting as in the film, but that's all Iran. Look I'm not too good to say "Hey i know that thing!" either. my favourite local reference was Jeanne's Bakery
