a review of 亡命夜驰

Wheelman is a tense action thriller about a man who drives robbers, and finds himself in an unexpected situation that marks the start of a hectic, dangerous night ride. I'm not a fan of the Fast and the Furious genre, but I enjoyed Wheelman, and would call it a tribute to classic road chase films like Bullitt (1968), Duel (1971) and The Driver (1978). Wheelman's execution is effective: throughout the film the camera is used as if you're a passenger in the car, which enhances your involvement. Frank Grillo does a great job portraying the tough-ass ex-con driver, desperately trying to find his way out of the mess he got into.
