X: The Man with the X-Ray Eyes - Review

This was a movie rather cheaply made that aspired to tell the story of a man who wanted too much. It got the point across in the first twenty minutes and spent the next hour going down the same track, which seems a little excessive. There were some scenes that kind of worked but the protagonist was so flawed and made such lousy choices I was just kind of shaking my head most of the time. The effects used to depict his "X-ray" sight were pretty crummy and the story was so inconsistent. The filmmaker would just throw in some bare skin when it was felt the audience might be losing interest. It was hard to buy why the second doctor felt a connection with the main character with all his stubbornness and arrogance. And instead of finishing the story in an interesting way, they just decided to go all Old Testament on the misguided fool and have him torture himself.
