a review of 战鼓

This must be one of the most anti-Hollywood movies I've ever seen — raw, nihilistic, offensive, even shocking at times. No taboo remains unharmed. Ex drummer is pure punk, dark anarchy, larded with surrealism and the blackest humor. I laughed out loud several times in the first part of the movie, but in the second part things get more grim, with an apocalyptic ending that left me a bit confounded.
