Christine (1983)Rewatched Christine in 2015, about 29 years since I first saw the movie as a VHS video when I was a youngster. John Carpenter managed to create a suspenseful movie out of subject matter that might easily have been laughable: a car that drives on its own, killing people. Carpenter's effective use of lens flares and dark, moody cinematography, accompanied by his own atmospheric synth tracks turn Christine into a ride to remember. Keith Gordon did a great job playing the intense, disturbed, fatalistic teenager who falls in love with Christine.
