Pierrot le Fou (1965)

Bonnie and Clyde on acid. 😎 It's laudable that Godard dared to break a lot of cinematic conventions, embracing surrealism and absurdism, and blending poetry, art and film. I quite enjoyed the first half of Pierrot le Fou, but in the second half the novelty of Godard's cinematic stylization wears off, the film seems to lose direction and starts to drag while turning into a chaotic farce with people repetitively running and driving around. This made me lose focus and involvement, and I fast-forwarded the last 15 minutes. My synopsis for Pierrot le Fou would be: two attractive young people are frivolously fooling around in a sun-drenched mid-1960s France.
