American History X (1998)

The last time I saw American History X was not long after its release in 1998. When I decided to rewatch it 18 years later, I could still clearly remember two intense scenes — the sidewalk kerbstone scene and the shower scene. Anyone who's seen American History X probably knows what I'm referring to right away. American History X hasn't lost any of its power as far as I'm concerned. The message is conveyed in an impressive manner, without being overly moralistic. Edward Norton is the star of the show, proving he can convincingly portray an intense, hateful, disturbing neo-nazi and still win your sympathy in the same movie. Edward Furlong established a great performance as well. It's a pity his career stranded after Terminator 2 and American History X.
