When the Sun begins to expand in such a way that it will inevitably engulf and destroy the Earth in a hundred years, united mankind finds a way to avoid extinction by propelling the planet out of the Solar System using gigantic engines, moving it to a new home located four light years away, an epic journey that will last thousands of years.

　　太阳即将毁灭，人类在地球表面建造出巨大的推进器，寻找新家园。然而宇宙之路危机四伏，为了拯救地球，为了人类能在漫长的2500年后抵达新家园，流浪地球时代的年轻人挺身而出，展开争分夺秒的生死之战 。该片以《流浪地球》版本的素材为主，新增了一点点新拍的素材。重映版比原版增加11分钟44秒2帧的内容。增加内容除了片尾花絮和旧素材，还补充了新视效新情节。该片包含了“心创作”、“心剪辑”、“心视效”、11分钟新内容全“心”版本的《流浪地球》。制片人龚格尔表示，此前《流浪地球》的时长是考虑到春节档，片长太长，则不利于排片。而2020年初的疫情让电影业暂停，团队就想着给它增加10多分钟的素材进去，这些素材片段把所有人物角色的前因后果都做了更充分的补充，有全新情节，还有一些新的视效。他还表示，新版将以公益的方式对院线和电影人做一些支持。

李献计（房祖名 饰）跟女友王倩（王子文 饰）分手之后，难以接受这个惨痛的现实，以至于重新回到了差时症的怪圈之中。他穿梭在自己的时空里，回忆着童年上学看课外书被老师罚站，对于父亲（姜武 饰）严厉批评的心不在焉，对于二叔（姚鲁 饰）精通电子维修的向往，对于视频游戏的痴迷，对于公司同事的冷漠厌恶，当然，还有对于他和女友恋爱的每个细节。他并不希望治愈差时症，因为他还对回到过去抱有幻想，甚至不惜卖肾、打造金属手臂来完成打通游戏的梦想，但是现实的残酷，却将他卷入了警察（白凯南 饰）、警察小殷（李响 饰）、马神医（范明 饰）、日本骗子（矢野浩二 饰）等各色人物的圈套之中……

In 1953 the Korean War is entering the final stage. The People's Volunteer Army of China has launched its last major battle in Kumsong. In order to arrive on time and deliver enough ammo to the Kumsong front line, the soldiers have to defend themselves against the never ending bombardments of enemy bombers and race against time to repair the last bridge, all while facing supply shortages and with inferior equipment.

The sun is about to be destroyed, and humans have built huge thrusters on the surface of the earth to find a new home. However, the road to the universe is full of dangers. In order to save the earth, young people from the wandering earth era stepped forward for the third time and started a life-and-death battle against time.
