故事背景为日本的江户时代，风是一家小茶馆的侍女，这天茶馆里来了一群地方恶霸，其中地方官儿子龙次郎尤其欺人太甚。风因为意外得罪了龙次郎，情急之下，茶馆内一名无职浪人“无幻”出手救了风。另一方面，地方官正在欺压老百姓，流浪武士“仁”路见不平拔剑相助，杀死了地方官身边的四个“高手”保镖，救下了穷人，因此得罪了地方官。
随后，无幻和仁在茶馆里相遇并交手，忽然一场大火将他们困住，二人随之被捕。因儿子在大火中丧生，恼羞成怒的地方官勒令将二人砍首。砍首之日二人大闹刑场，并且在风的帮助下，从刑场中逃出来了。作为代价，风要求他们一起去寻找一个身上“带着向日葵香味”的武士。从此，三人展开了一场奇幻的旅程。

Den-noh Coil, Coil — A Circle of Children, is a Japanese science fiction anime television series depicting a near future where semi-immersive augmented reality technology has just begun to enter the mainstream. Den-noh Coil, in development for over a decade, is the series director debut of Japanese animator Mitsuo Iso. It premiered on NHK Educational TV on May 12, 2007. Due to the animators involved in its production and its unusually high-profile television broadcast time slot, Den-noh Coil was highly anticipated.

日本怪談選集系列《怪談餐館（暫譯，怪談レストラン）》將被製作成電視動畫，並預定於今年 10 月開始播映。自 1996 年開始發行的《怪談餐館》是由日本兒童文學作家 松谷美代子擔任主編，以「恐怖但是有趣」的作品為主題，將日本的民間傳說、校園以及世界怪談編輯成冊，至 2007 年為止就出版了 50 集，受到許多中、小學生的喜愛。
而因為作品以「餐館」為主題，因此每集的動畫都將分為「前菜」、「主菜」以及「甜點」三段故事來播放，作品以小學六年級的「大空 AKO（アコ）」為主角，描述他與身旁的朋友所遇到的各種奇妙事情。

随同去年9月底《超时空要塞F》最终回放送结束之际，TV动画片尾便登布了剧场版制作的消息，广大死忠为之虎躯一震，翘首以待。在2009年1月发售的Macross系列作品的综合杂志《Macross Ace》Vol.001当中，些许剧场版情报流出，其中在河森正治总监督＆菅野洋子特别会谈中，两位业内人士对将在2009年上映的《超时空要塞MF》剧场版进行了将近3小时的对话，从中我们得知了剧场版将计划让库兰往爱情方面发展，补足TV中的遗憾，原本在TV中河森神棍的许多建议未被采纳的建议今回将在剧场版中表现出来，而剧中也许会对TV系列进行回顾，引用河森的说法便是为了能让初次接触MF的人对该作有个大概的了解，所以在角色的立场上会有所变动，而至于库兰是否顶替双歌姬的位置菅野洋子回答有机会的话会尝试。
在忙碌于剧场版制作将近半年的时间内，6月份发售的《Macross Ace》Vol.002终于闪亮登场，同时还带来了两则关于剧场版的消息。其一为剧场版《超时空要塞F》将于11月21日正式上映，加入了冬季剧场放映档期。其二为剧场版《超时空要塞F》标题正式定为“虚空歌姫”，而杂志图中绿坝娘兰华李惊现真实二字，腹黑状态的雪露女王只搭配了嘘字，难不成在剧场版中将要揭示绿坝娘才是阿尔特的最终翅膀么！？那么之前《Macross Ace》Vol.001中透露的库兰为主角又是怎么回事！？河森神棍你必须给我们一个交代啊！河森你有什么不开心的事？说出来让大家开心一下，请不要黑雪露好吗？
