A dandy fop who just happens to be great at Kung-Fu, is traveling the countryside in the Hong Kong of old. He has to negotiate a treacherous landscape filled with tricksters and tough guys, and fight a lot of battles in hand-to-hand martial arts combat, in order to be reunited with his lost love. In order to do this, he teams up with a ragtag bunch of orphans.

Wang Chun, a veteran diver, is hired to recover a large quantity of gold bars from a ship sunk during the retreat of Japanese soldiers from Hong Kong. But no sooner has the treasure been found, then former Japanese military man, Arakawa, and his men arrive in a speedboat. Arakawa kills Wang's boss, seizes the gold and forces Wang to steer his boat to safety. A struggle ensues. The speedboat sinks after striking a reef. Wang escapes with the gold. He later marries a girl named Yen-yen. They settle down in South Korea, where Wang owns a big ranch. They have a daughter, Shan-shan. 7 years later, Arakawa returns, he demands Wang to hand over the gold bars with Yen-yen and Shan-shan as hostage..

Ingeol and Ki-seong are masters of taekwondo and are bamboo shoots, but they parted ways to spread the traditional martial art, Taekwon, to the whole country. Upon arriving at Ganghwa Island, Ingeol discovers a group of suspicious people and tracks them. Meanwhile, Ki-seong, who had been traveling the country separately, heard the news and ran to Ganghwa Island, and together with In-geol's younger sister, Non-smoking, smacked the Ming merchants and Hyuk-soo gang to protect the gold.

Ho Li-Chun, a pretty but ruthless swordswoman, and three challengers are participating in an open tournament at Prince Kuei's Palace. A knight, Chen Jo-Yu, is defeated in the tournament. He flees and later returns with knight Tang Ching-Yun who wields a strange sword. She finds out Prince Kuei actually is Sun, who killed the real prince years ago and assumed his identity. Ho joins forces with Chen and Tang. The trio slays Sun in a desperate confrontation at the palace.
