Tokyo at night. It has another face, different from the daytime. Gorgeous neon lights and dressed-up women decorate the city at night. And then, there are men who live off of these women. This movie depicts the conflict of sex and desire between a procurer, called a "night arranger," and women who live in the neon city seeking money and pleasure.

Set in the decadent mid-Edo period, this unconventional work depicts the story of a man who, after being pursued as one half of a double suicide, enters the Buddhist priesthood, breaks his vows, and emerges as a notorious villainous monk.

Yoshinari Bessho, the feudal lord of Tanba Province, is a collector of butterflies and has his concubines tattooed with butterflies as well. One day while hunting, Yoshinari sees Gennosuke Akizuki's beautiful wife, Okoto. He kidnaps her, tattoos a butterfly on her shoulder and takes her for his own. Feeling shame for what has happened, Okoto throws herself into a well and commits suicide. She then returns as a ruthless ghost that seeks revenge against Yoshinari and his retainers. Whenever the ghost appears, mysterious butterflies always fly around her...

Kyosuke (Masaomi Kondo) and his sister Nobuko (Yoko Moriguchi) were invited to the 10th anniversary party of the travel agency "Pigeon". At that seat, Ayako, the younger sister of President Gentaro, is shot dead. Yoko has a relationship with Kawahara, and Ito, who died, was confused because she had an affair with her secretary, Masae. Takashi is said to have already left home and is living on his own.
