Kumagai is an art teacher at a private female high school. Sakai, the school's chairman of the board, runs the school like the school is his own property and pays Kumagi a low salary. Then, Music Teacher Naoko and P.E. Teacher Oyamada asks Kumagi to join them in a scheme to blackmail Sakai.

Unexpectedly, Sakai and his girlfriend Akemi go missing. The duo are assumed to be kidnapped by Minowa and Nakao who are education consultants. Meanwhile, Kumagai and Naoko unwittingly become involved in a scheme to steal large amount of gold bars that were hidden by Sakai.

College student Kahoko is the quintessential overprotected child born out of today's Japanese society. Shielded by her parents, Kahoko grew up completely pampered and became somewhat of a miraculously naive "test tube human." She is 21 years old and about to start working for a company, but she has never slept away from home, had a part time job, chosen her own clothes, or even ridden a train alone. Kahoko has had her picture taken, but she has never taken a picture herself.

Takamura Naho is the deputy curator of Ariyoshi Art Museum which has a large collection of art. She took over from her grandfather Ariyoshi Kisaburo who is an avid art collector and founded this private museum. She also inherited his eye for beauty.
