《THE THIRD》是星野亮的长篇奇幻小说，曾经入选1999年的第10回日本奇幻长篇小说大奖。目前已经发行了9卷长篇小说和5卷短篇以及以一位名叫MJ的男子为主人公所描写的《Thethird 0》1卷，长篇小说依然在富士见文库的月刊上连载，小说的插画是由着名的漫画家后藤なお担当。去年公布动画化消息之后，12月开始在月刊《DRAGON AGE》上开始连载漫画，由新人伊藤有子执笔。
