In the mysterious future, crystalline organisms called Gems inhabit a world that has been destroyed by six meteors. Each Gem is assigned a role in order to fight against the Lunarians, a species who attacks them in order to shatter their bodies and use them as decorations.

Phosphophyllite, also known as Phos, is a young and fragile Gem who dreams of helping their friends in the war effort. Instead, they are told to compile an encyclopedia because of their delicate condition. After begrudgingly embarking on this task, Phos meets Cinnabar, an intelligent gem who has been relegated to patrolling the isolated island at night because of the corrosive poison their body creates. After seeing how unhappy Cinnabar is, Phos decides to find a role that both of the rejected Gems can enjoy. Can Phos's seemingly mundane assignment lead both Phos and Cinnabar to the fulfillment they desire?

The institution is famous for its "Shokugeki" or "food wars," where students face off in intense, high-stakes cooking showdowns. As Souma and his new schoolmates struggle to survive the extreme lifestyle of Tootsuki, more and greater challenges await him, putting his years of learning under his father to the test.

Young Tatsumi travels to the capital of the Empire in order to earn money for his starving people and encounters a world of unimaginable depravity, dominated by the ruthless Prime Minister who controls the child Emperor. 故事始于月球探测器的一个发现，因为偶然拍到了白色的影子，天真的大雄（大原惠美 配音）就断定那肯定是月兔，谁知却因此遭到同学们乃至静香（加薮由美 配音）的嘲笑。作为大雄贴心好奶妈的哆啦A梦（水田山葵 配音）对此怎么能坐视不理呢？于是他拿出秘密道具“异说俱乐部徽章”，以守护“想象力”之名，帮助大雄在月球背面建立了理想的月兔王国。未过多久，神秘少年露卡（皆川纯子 饰）转学来到大雄班里，并受邀进入了月兔王国。
只不过本该是大雄想象中的产物，似乎月球内真的隐藏着未知的文明以及难以预测的危机……

In a future where space travel is commonplace, nine children get flung over 5,000 light years away. Now they must make their way back -- alone.

西条拓己（吉野裕行 配音）是一个标准的废柴，个性懦弱又不负责任的他住在集装箱里，每日除了上课外都宅在家里玩网络游戏，深深沉迷与二次元世界的他认为一切三次元的都与他无关。此时的涉谷地区，正在发生名为“New Gene”的连续猎奇杀人事件，以被害者死状惨烈而臭名昭著。一日，拓己在网络聊天室里遇见了一名自称将军（代永翼 配音）的神秘人物，将军用津津乐道的口吻预言了下一次的猎奇杀人事件始末，并且传来了血腥暴力的现场照片。
一开始，拓己只当其是恶作剧者不予理会，但数日后，将军所预言的一切都成为了现实。拓己偷偷潜入犯罪现场，撞见了浑身是血眼神空洞的女生咲畑梨深（喜多村英梨 配音）并认定她就是杀人凶手。但不久之后，梨深却又以昔日老友的身份出现在了拓己面前。凶手究竟是谁？将军的真实面目是什么？在现实与幻想之间，拓己混沌的头脑要做出一次又一次的关乎于性命的选择。

Takumi Nishijou, a high school student at the Private Suimei Academy, one day hears about the 'New Gen' murders that have been occurring around the city. Although dismissing the subject because it doesn't involve him, Takumi begins to experience strange mishaps around him, from a horrific picture he received while on his PC, to a mysterious Pink-Haired girl standing at a murder scene.

From there on Takumi struggles to cope with the events unfolding around him, and is soon unaware of what is real or a delusion. As his fate opens up before him, the perpetrator behind the 'New Gen' events attempts to find him, leading him into a world where nothing is as it seems.

在私立莉莉安女子学院里，有着这样一个制度，新入校的学生要选择一位高年级的学姐，两人结为“姐妹”，在校学习的期间，姐姐将全方位的照顾教导妹妹的生活礼仪。在学院里，山百合会的名字如雷贯耳，作为会长的小笠原祥子（伊藤美纪 配音）、鸟居江利子（生天目仁美 配音）和佐藤圣（封口惠美 配音）三人更是学院里女生们倾慕的对象。她们被称为学院的三朵蔷薇，平日里，她们和她们的妹妹，也就是蔷薇花蕾管理着学生会里的大小事宜。

Misaka, one of the the 7 strongest people at her school, is the titular character of the story and can control the electric fields surrounding her. She lives in Academy City, a "scientific city of the future" of over 2 million students all learning to control their esper (supernatural) powers -- of which some are more powerful than others. She mostly tries to do the right thing but isn't above taking matters in her own hands and bending a few rules here and there. This is about her trials, tribulations, and experiences as she grows up surrounded by her friends. This story deals with "Level Upper", a cheat people can use to quickly become more powerful without effort.

Toaru Kagaku no Railgun is a fully formed 'side-story' to Toaru Majutsu no Index where a supporting character there (Misaka) is given her own complete story and viewpoint while also interacting with the concurrent events of Index 1.

This is the second story in the entire overarching story line -- you should watch Index 1 first, but you MUST watch this before Reilgun S (aka Railgun 2).
