《怪》包含了三个故事，皆改编自日本民间传说。
《四谷怪谈》：歌舞伎戏剧作家四世鹤屋南北，以民间怪谈为蓝本，创作了“四谷怪谈”。讲述了一个叫民谷伊右卫门的浪人，抛弃了妻子阿岩，和伊藤家年轻貌美的梅成亲。阿岩服下伊藤家送来的毒药后毁容并且惨死，化为怨灵的阿岩立下了断绝民谷家和伊藤家世代子孙的诅咒。
《天守物语》：在浓雾萦绕的白鹭城内，住着一群有着不死之身的忘却之神，公主富姬是天守阁主人。鹰匠图书之助在一次追寻逃走的老鹰的路上，与富姬邂逅，二人一见钟情。那只由图书之助亲自抚养长大的老鹰，原来是富姬的母亲。她曾经与人类相爱，遭到抛弃后便化成了鹰，而她的后代则变成了忘却之神。忘却之神一旦与人类相爱就会失去永生，富姬在姥姥的阻拦下，将图书之助赶走。然而，人类却向白鹭城发起了进攻……
《化猫》：一个奇怪的卖药郎来到一个大户人家推销药品，得知这户人家的新娘在出嫁前意外死亡。原来这是“化猫”的报复。妖怪的形成，是由人类的种种因缘引起的；要拔剑消灭妖怪，必须要有“形、实、理”。于是，20年前一桩悲剧被重新提起……

During the war-torn feudal wars in Japan, the Awa clan faced certain extinction from a rival clan backed by demonic forces.

However, a careless promise by their lord leads to both salvation and disgrace when their family dog brings back the head of the enemy warlord and insists on marrying the lord's daughter. Their unnatural union bears fruit but when both are killed, the eight unborn pups are reincarnated as the eight Dog Warriors - The Hakkenden.

As they slowly find each other and come together as a group, these eight warriors, who represent the eight separate aspects of Bushido, engage in bloody battles with demonic entities and evil samurai in a final attempt to redeem their clan!

怪盗鲁邦三世（ルパン三世，Lupin III）与搭档——“酷枪汉”次元大介，“什么东西都要劈两半的危险男人”石川五右卫门，谜一样的美女峰不二子，展开的一系列冒险故事。
这是《鲁邦三世》动画系列的第一部，1971-1972年上映。又称《鲁邦三世之绿夹克系列》（因为片中鲁邦三世的正装为绿色外套），原计划拍摄26话，最终完成23话。据说这是第一部面向非青少年观众的动画作品，因为其中出现较多（相对当时的动画作品而言）暴力，欺诈。而藏在这些背后的则是大量令人捧腹的喜剧成分。本作基于Monkey Punch(加藤一彦)的《鲁邦三世》漫画系列，监督大塚康生，并有宫崎骏等多位后来的动漫重量级人物担任制作班底。本作奠定了整个鲁邦动画系列的基调，后来的鲁邦系列作品还多次从本系列中攫取素材。鲁邦从此进军荧屏，并一跃成为日本国民级动画经典，活跃至今。

Rikuo Nura, is 3 parts human and a quarter Demon, lives in a house of spirits with his grandfather, The current clan head of the Nura youkai. Rikou is set to be the next clan head, despit the fact he dilikes his demon side. He soon come to terms with his demon blood and decides to take his position as young master of the Nura house. However there are those who will certainly not allow it to be easy.

故事中的妖怪，大部份出自鸟山石燕的《图百鬼夜行》和竹原春泉的《小人儿书一百故事》的妖怪画集。
奴良陆生表面是一个13岁的普通初一学生，但实际却是妖怪“滑头鬼”的孙子，拥有四分之一的妖怪血统，白天是一个普通少年，到了晚上则成了一个妖怪。 儿时的他非常崇拜爷爷，并且非常喜欢爷爷手下的“奴良组”。因为父亲奴良鲤伴很早就已经去世，本应该继承“奴良组”三代目的陆生却因为不愿自己成为同学惧怕和讨厌的妖怪要拒绝继承。直到有一天，一心想成为滑头鬼妖怪元兴寺为了打击报复奴良家袭击了陆生和同学一同乘坐的校车。求人心切的陆生本能地召唤出妖怪的血统，救出了同学。最终他到底会选择成为妖怪吗？
