No tiene nada que ver con el “Santo, el enmascarado de plata” que todos conocemos, se jugaba durante todo su metraje con la verdadera identidad del héroe, que en este caso se llamaba “El Médico”. Pues bien, durante “El enmascarado de plata” veremos como dos reporteros no pararan de aparecer justo después de que “El Médico” haya realizado alguna proeza y haya salido de escena, colocándolos como los dos únicos sospechosos de ser el hombre que se oculta tras la máscara.

Antonio dives for sponges which are sold by his sweetheart Rossana. One day, the escaped prisoner José-Luis appears and is hid by his friend Antonio. Although José-Luis does not want to betray his friend, a love affair with tragic consequences between him and Rossana develops. The Net was one of Mexico's entries at the 1953 Cannes Film Festival.

Capulina is a night-watchman in a warehouse, a perfect job for him. When some thieves break in and steal some crates, El Santo is after them because they are using the warehouse for diamond smuggling. Capulina hinders their capture. He then decides that he will put on a wrestler's mask and help El Santo to caputre the crooks.
